RPO "Afif" launched a new project to reduce the burden of HIV and TB among key populаtion

 

 

On March 1, 2021, the Republican public organization "Afif" launched a new project "Strengthening the supportive environment and expanding prevention and treatment measures to reduce the burden of HIV and tuberculosis in the Republic of Tajikistan", funded by the United Nations Development Program in Tajikistan within the framework of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

The main goal of the project is to improve HIV testing, detection of new cases of HIV and tuberculosis, and increase the coverage of ARV therapy among PWID.

This intervention is implemented according to the “Test, Treat” principle using innovative approaches, and helps to improve access of people who inject drugs to harm reduction programs, HIV testing and early detection of tuberculosis, treatment and legal assistance, reduce stigma and discrimination against PWID and PLHIV.
